New Jersey has 28 real-money online casino brands earning revenue, one of the largest line-ups in the US, and each one is licensed by the Division of Gaming Enforcement. That doesn't make them equal. The things that matter once you've signed up are narrower than the ads suggest: how much you must wager before a bonus becomes withdrawable cash, how quickly a withdrawal reaches your bank, and whether the games you want are in the lobby. That's what we rank on.

Every online casino in New Jersey has to partner with an Atlantic City casino license holder. The app on your phone may carry a national brand, but legally it operates under a property on the Boardwalk or in the Marina District. That’s why FanDuel Casino’s license runs through Golden Nugget, and why the DGE’s monthly revenue reports list brands under their Atlantic City partners.
| Atlantic City licensee | Online casino brands |
|---|---|
| Borgata | BetMGM, Borgata, Stardust, Wheel of Fortune |
| Golden Nugget | FanDuel, Golden Nugget, BetRivers |
| Resorts | DraftKings, theScore Bet, Mohegan Sun, Resorts |
| Tropicana (Caesars) | Caesars Palace Online, Tropicana |
| Harrah’s (Caesars) | betPARX, Jackpocket |
| Caesars | Betinia, Ember, Vegas Club |
| Bally’s | Fanatics, Bally Casino, Monopoly Casino |
| Hard Rock | Hard Rock Bet, bet365 |
| Ocean | Ocean, PlayStar, Resorts World |
The partnership matters for more than paperwork. Several apps let you deposit or withdraw cash at their partner’s casino cage, and loyalty programs such as Caesars Rewards and MGM Rewards turn online play into hotel nights and dinners in Atlantic City.
To play, you must be 21 and physically in New Jersey. You can register from Manhattan or Philadelphia, but geolocation won’t let you place a bet until you cross the state line.
In 2025, NJ online casinos won $2.91 billion from players, up 22% on the year before. It was the first year online play out-earned the Atlantic City casino floors. The market is concentrated: in a typical month, FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM together take more than half of all online casino revenue. The fastest-growing names lately have been Fanatics and Hard Rock Bet.
The state takes 19.75% of that revenue in tax, up from 15% before July 2025.
Welcome offers in New Jersey fall into three groups, and the headline dollar figure tells you little about which is better.
Bonus spins. A $5 or $10 deposit triggers hundreds of spins, usually released in batches over several days. Winnings from the spins often carry 1x wagering or none at all, so what you win is close to cash. Low ceiling, low risk.
Lossback. If you’re down after your first 24 hours, the casino refunds your net losses as bonus credit, typically up to $500 or $1,000. You’re only paid if you lose, and the credit has its own wagering requirement, from 1x to 10x depending on the casino.
Deposit match. The casino matches your first deposit, often 100% up to $500 or $1,000. This is where wagering requirements bite.
Here’s how to judge a deposit match. Take a $500 bonus with 15x wagering. You must bet $7,500 before you can withdraw. On slots that return 96% on average, you’d expect to lose about 4% of that, or $300, leaving around $200 of expected value. At 30x, you’d need to bet $15,000 and would expect to lose about $600, more than the bonus is worth. Table games and live dealer games usually count for 0% to 20% toward wagering, so a blackjack player gets little from a slots-focused match.
New Jersey rules help. Operators must file every promotion’s terms with the DGE before it launches, state wagering requirements and eligible games in plain language, and can’t cap your winnings once you’ve met the terms.
The fastest ways to cash out of a New Jersey online casino are, in order:
Approval time is the hidden variable. Most casinos review withdrawals within 24 hours, and your first cashout takes longer while they complete identity checks. Verify your account before your first deposit and the wait drops.
New Jersey put live dealer games online before any other state. Golden Nugget opened the first US online live dealer studio in its Atlantic City casino in 2016, and Evolution opened its first American studio in New Jersey in 2018. Caesars added its own studio inside the Tropicana in 2025, with five blackjack tables, including a one-to-one high-limit table, plus baccarat and roulette for its Caesars Palace Online players.
Most major NJ casinos now offer live blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows streamed from New Jersey studios. Expect higher minimums than RNG tables and little or no contribution toward bonus wagering.
Progressive slots in New Jersey can pay life-changing amounts from small bets:
Licensed ones are. The DGE tests games before they go live, audits payouts, requires player funds to be held separately, and investigates complaints. Every licensed site must show its DGE license and Atlantic City partner, offer deposit, loss and time limits, and honor the state’s self-exclusion list.
Offshore casinos that accept New Jersey players have none of those protections. If one refuses to pay you, there’s no regulator to turn to.
Set deposit and time limits in your account before you start. If you want a break, you can self-exclude from all NJ online gambling for one or five years from your player account, or for life through the DGE. Gambling problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER, free and confidential, 24/7.
Yes. Gov. Chris Christie signed the online gaming law in February 2013, sites went live on November 26, 2013, and authorization currently runs through November 2028.
28 brands reported revenue to the DGE in the latest monthly figures, each tied to one of nine Atlantic City licensees.
It depends on what you play. See our ranking at the top of this page for our overall pick and the best casino for slots, live dealer, bonuses and fast payouts.
Casinos that support Play+, PayPal or Venmo are fastest, often paying within hours of approval. Bank transfers take one to five business days.
No. You must be physically in New Jersey when you play and at least 21. Your home address can be in any state.
No. Games on licensed NJ sites are tested and approved by the Division of Gaming Enforcement, and payout rates are audited.
