NJ Casino Loyalty Programs: How Online Rewards and VIP Tiers Work

Every major NJ online casino enrolls you in a rewards program the moment you start playing for real money. The NJ casino loyalty programs worth most to Atlantic City visitors are Caesars Rewards, MGM Rewards and Unity by Hard Rock, because online play counts toward the same status you use on the Boardwalk. App-only programs such as DraftKings Dynasty and FanDuel’s Rewards Club pay back in bonus money instead.

Either way, the cash return is small. On slots, the big programs give back about 20 cents for every $100 you wager. Points are a bonus on play you’d do anyway, not a reason to play more.

How online casino rewards work

Most programs run two currencies side by side. One is a spendable balance, such as Reward Credits, BetMGM Rewards Points, Unity Points or Crowns. The other is a status counter, usually called Tier Credits, that decides your level.

You earn both on real-money wagers, not on bonus money. Slots earn fastest. Table games, live dealer and video poker earn at a fraction of the slot rate, because the house edge on them is lower.

Spendable points turn into casino bonus cash, bonus spins or bonus bets in the app. In the programs tied to Atlantic City, they can also pay for rooms, dinners and shows. Tier status adds perks on top and resets on a schedule, usually every calendar year.

Caesars Rewards online

Caesars Rewards is the same program you use on the casino floor. In New Jersey, Caesars Palace Online Casino and Horseshoe Online Casino earn 1 Reward Credit and 1 Tier Credit for every $5 of slot play and every $25 on table games. Caesars Sportsbook bets earn credits too.

Reward Credits can be spent two ways:

• Online: 100 credits convert to $1 in casino bonus cash.
• At a Caesars property: 200 credits convert to $1 in free play at a Caesars Rewards Center. Credits also pay for hotel stays, dining, shows and spa visits.

Here’s the math. $1,000 of slot play earns 200 Reward Credits, worth $2 in online bonus cash or $1 in free play on the floor. That’s a 0.2% return online. The 2,500 Reward Credits in Caesars Palace Online’s welcome offer are worth $25 in bonus cash at the same rate.

Caesars Rewards tiers

At 1 Tier Credit per $5, Platinum takes $25,000 in slot play and Diamond takes $75,000. Status carries over to Caesars, Harrah’s and Tropicana in Atlantic City. Link your online account to your existing Caesars Rewards number when you sign up, or your credits will be split across two accounts.

MGM Rewards and BetMGM online

BetMGM Rewards is the online layer of MGM Rewards. When you join BetMGM, it matches you to your existing MGM Rewards account or opens a new one and links them.

Real-money casino play earns up to 20 BetMGM Rewards Points and 20 MGM Rewards Tier Credits per $100 on regular slots and instant-win games. Progressive jackpot slots earn up to 10 of each per $100, and live table games up to 4.

Points can be redeemed for casino bonuses in the app. They can also be moved into MGM Rewards Points for use at MGM resorts, or swapped for Marriott Bonvoy points.

The math is close to Caesars. In the BetMGM Rewards Store, 100 points buy a $1 casino credit with 1x playthrough. $1,000 of slot play earns up to 200 points, or about $2.

MGM Rewards tiers

Higher tiers add a bonus of 10% to 40% on the points you earn. Pearl takes $100,000 in slot play at the top earn rate, so it’s realistic only for heavy players.

The Atlantic City tie-in is Borgata, which MGM runs. Borgata Online is part of the same MGM Rewards family, so your online play counts toward status you can use at the Borgata hotel and at MGM’s Las Vegas resorts.

Unity by Hard Rock and Hard Rock Bet

Hard Rock Bet is linked to Unity by Hard Rock, the company’s worldwide loyalty program. Every wager earns Unity Points and Unity Tier Credits. Unity replaced the old Wild Card program at Hard Rock Atlantic City, so Wild Card balances and status moved over.

Tiers are annual, and Tier Credits reset on January 1. Unity Points don’t expire as long as you play at least once every 180 days. You can move points between Hard Rock Bet and Unity in the app under Account, Rewards, Unity tab.

Hard Rock Bet adds a monthly program on top, Legendary Reward Drops. Your Level Credits for the month set your level, from Level 1 to Level 7, plus an invite-only Signature level. Your level multiplies the Unity Points you earn, from 1x at Level 1 to 8x at Signature. Every Thursday you can open a reward drop, with at least two rewards per drop from Level 6 up.

DraftKings Dynasty Rewards

Dynasty Rewards covers DraftKings Casino, DraftKings Sportsbook and daily fantasy, as well as Golden Nugget and Jackpocket. You’re enrolled automatically.

Every bet and spin earns Crowns, which you spend in the Dynasty Store, and Tier Credits, which move you through five tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Onyx. Onyx requires an invitation. Most slots earn 1 Tier Credit per $10, and most table games 1 per $50.

There’s no Atlantic City hotel tie-in. Golden Nugget’s online casino uses Dynasty Rewards, not the comp program at the Golden Nugget hotel.

FanDuel Casino Rewards Club

FanDuel’s Rewards Club pays points on every real-money dollar wagered. It has five levels: four open to everyone and one invite-only VIP level. Points build through the month, and higher levels bring bigger perks.

Slots and FanDuel Jackpot games earn 3 points per $1, craps and roulette 2, and blackjack and baccarat 1.

The main perk is Weekly Bonus Back, a share of your weekly net losses returned as bonus funds. It runs from 5% at entry level to 25% at the top. Lose $400 in a week at the 10% level, and you’d get $40 back. Reward Boxes and birthday bonuses round it out. There’s no land-based tie-in.

BetRivers iRush Rewards

iRush Rewards covers BetRivers’ casino and sportsbook. Real-money play earns loyalty points for your level and Bonus Store points to spend. The Bonus Store sells Bonus Scratch Cards and Wheel Spins, which guarantee bonus money, plus other prizes. Points don’t convert into Atlantic City comps.

Fanatics FanCash

Fanatics pays FanCash on eligible casino play through Fanatics ONE, the company’s wider loyalty program. FanCash can go on slots, table games and bonus bets, or on jerseys, hats and game tickets from the Fanatics store. Bets made with casino credit don’t earn it. It’s the best fit for sports fans who’d rather have gear than a hotel night.
