Our rating: 6/10 (not available in New Jersey). HorsePlay is a smart workaround for states without online casinos. For New Jersey players, it’s mainly useful to understand, not to download.
The short answer for New Jersey
HorsePlay doesn’t accept players located in New Jersey. Its App Store listing names 19 eligible states, including New York, California and Florida, but not the Garden State. Geolocation checks block play here, as they do at every real-money platform.
What HorsePlay is
HorsePlay is the consumer brand of Game Play Network, a Los Angeles company that started the idea as b spot. It’s built on pari-mutuel horse betting: the same pooled betting you’d use at Monmouth Park.

When you buy a credit package, which HorsePlay calls a Player Stack, the platform places a bundle of real wagers on live races. When those races settle, a casino-style game reveals what you won. Reels spin and bonus rounds fire, but the outcome comes from the race pools, not a random number generator. You never pick a horse; you can only reshuffle the selected wagers before confirming.
Game Play Network says it operates as a licensed ADW hub under the federal Interstate Horseracing Act, with a master license from the Oregon Racing Commission.
The games
More than 150 titles, mostly slot-style, from studios New Jersey players will know from licensed casino apps: IGT, Aristocrat Gaming, High 5 Games and WMS among them. The lobby includes reel games such as Blazing Stampede and Fortune Gems 500, Hold & Win-style slots, Free Hand Video Poker, Plinko-style games, a quick red/black roulette and bingo.
There’s no live dealer, no blackjack and no full table games. Compare that with New Jersey’s licensed apps, where a single casino lobby can top 1,000 games and live dealer tables run around the clock.
Bonus and promos
- Welcome offer: 100% match on your first credit purchase, up to $250, from $10. No Promo Code needed.
- Playthrough: 10x on bonus credits, within 30 days.
- Loss-back: 15% of net losses up to $200 Monday to Thursday, 10% up to $150 at weekends.
- Monthly leaderboard: $25,000 prize pool.
The 10x playthrough is reasonable on paper. It looks less generous next to New Jersey casino offers with 1x wagering, such as the lossback deals at Hard Rock Bet and BetRivers, which come with DGE oversight.
Payments
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, instant bank transfer, Play+ and PayPal. Withdrawals go back to your deposit method and take three to five business days. Player cash is held in a custodial account at an FDIC-insured bank, according to the App Store listing.
App rating and real player reviews
| Where | Rating | Based on |
|---|---|---|
| Apple App Store | 4.4 / 5 | about 7,000 ratings |
| Trustpilot | 1.9 / 5 | 105 reviews (65% one star) |
| Google Play | No app | Android players use the mobile site |
App Store reviewers like the deposit limit tool, quick withdrawals and tournament rebates. Trustpilot reviewers are far harsher. Their 2026 complaints center on deposits that took hours to credit, an account frozen after a payment dispute, bonus pops that paid less than the amount on screen, and leftover balances too small to use. A minority report withdrawals in under an hour and helpful support, and HorsePlay answers every negative review.
What HorsePlay doesn’t tell you
Every slot on a licensed New Jersey app has a return to player set and tested under Division of Gaming Enforcement rules. HorsePlay publishes no RTP and no effective takeout. Money flows through race pools, where takeout comes off the top, but that doesn’t convert neatly into a game return. Independent estimates of 75% to 85% circulate, without official confirmation.
After speaking with HorsePlay, our editor still had open questions:
I still have questions about the effective RTP, takeout, and what players can realistically expect in terms of returns. I think operators could do a better job explaining this.

Pros and cons
Pros – Clever use of legal racing pools for casino-style games – Recognizable game studios – Real-money withdrawals, no sweepstakes coins – Weekly loss-back promos
Cons – Not available in New Jersey – No published RTP or effective takeout – No table games or live dealer – 3–5 business day withdrawals – Games can feel repetitive
Verdict
I like the concept and the technology behind it. HorsePlay could introduce horse racing to a completely different audience, and in states without online casinos it fills a real gap.
New Jersey isn’t one of those states. The games themselves can become repetitive, and I don’t think they are quite a replacement for a proper online casino yet. Here, the proper online casino already exists, with tested returns and a state regulator. For the bigger picture on the category, read horse racing slots explained.
