Here is everything you need to know about Odds Boosts & Profit Boosts. In this mini guide, we explain how these enhanced odds offers work at Bet365, BetRivers & other sportsbooks.
So, What Are Odds Boosts & Profit Boosts
Odds boosts, also referred to as enhanced odds, are a perk offered by popular US online sportsbooks. In essence, what these sites are doing is kicking up the odds on selected betting lines up a notch.
These boosted odds will generally increase the payout on the selected wager anywhere from 5% to 50%. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what that percentage is on the enhanced odds. The fact of the matter is that if you win, with boosted odds, you’re going to win more.
Sportsbooks will also on occasion offer profit boosts to players. The difference between an odds boost and a profit boost is that while the former usually applies to a specific wager, a profit boost can usually be applied by the bettor to a play they are choosing to make.
How Odds Boosts Work
For the sake of argument, let’s suppose you were going to place a bet on the Philadelphia Eagles to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in an NFL game. The Eagles are set as moneyline favorites and the betting line is -110.
However, your favorite online sports betting site is offering an odds boost on this game. The line on the Eagles is bumped to +110.
So, if you make a $100 bet on the Eagles, under normal circumstances, at a betting line of -110, it would pay out $190.91 for a winning wager – the return of your $100 stake plus $90.91 in profit. However, with the odds boosted to +110, now that same $100 wager would pay out $210 on a win – your $100 stake plus a profit of $110.
How Profit Boosts Work
A profit boost is slightly different than an odds boost in that it is increasing the amount on your win, rather than upping the odds for a winning payout.
In this instance, let’s say there’s a player prop on a Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors NBA game that is offering +115 odds on LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Steph Curry combining for over 11 three-point field goals.
On a standard bet, the payout for a $100 bet on this prop would be $215 – a return of your stake plus $115 profit. However, were you to tack a 25% profit boost on to this prop, the win would now be worth $243.75 – your $100 stake, the $115 profit and the 25% profit boost of $28.75.
When To Boost A Bet
Online sportsbooks will be providing you with odds boosts and profit boosts on select bets every day. You’ll usually find a number of these boosts being offered on major events such as a playoff game, tennis Grand Slam, or golf major. Still, just because there’s a boost in play doesn’t mean you should jump on that play.
For instance, suppose there’s an odds boost on Phil Mickelson winning the Masters from +20000 to +25000. A $100 bet on that odds boost would pay out $25100. That being said, at this stage of his career, the chances of Mickelson winning the Masters are extremely remote. An odds boost or profit boost only makes sense as a play if you were already thinking about playing that wager before the sportsbook was offering you a little extra something-something.
In other words, don’t let an odds boost or profit boost boost your confidence over your common sense.

Let’s say there’s an NBA matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks.
You’re planning to bet on Jayson Tatum to score 30+ points and the Celtics to win – a player performance combo bet.
Original odds for this combo might be +250.
But Bet365 is offering a Bet Boost for this exact market, bumping the odds up to +300.
- You go to the NBA section on Bet365.
- Find the Celtics vs. Bucks game.
- You see a green arrow next to the Tatum/Celtics combo market.
- The odds show:
+250→ +300. - You click the boosted odds, and it gets added to your bet slip.
If you stake $50 on this boosted bet:
- Without the boost (+250), your potential return would be $175 ($50 stake + $125 profit).
- With the boost (+300), you’d get $200 ($50 stake + $150 profit).
Since it’s a pre-built combo, this boosted bet wouldn’t qualify for other Bet365 promotions like an NBA Acca Boost.
