The second half of the Major League Baseball season is underway. We took a look at the National League Cy Young favorites, so let’s take do the same for the Cy Young odds for the American League pitchers.
Detroit’s Tarik Skubal still has the top spot with odds of -140 at the DraftKings Sportsbook. Skubal is having a tremendous season with a 11-3 record, 2.34 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 146 strikeouts in 123 innings through his first 20 first-half starts.
In the No. 2 spot is Baltimore ace Corbin Burnes, who was the AL All-Star starter, had a excellent first-half, going 10-4 with a 2.38 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 116 strikeouts in 124.2 innings in 20 starts in his first year in Baltimore.
There is a bit of a dip when it comes from the top two pitchers in the AL down to the rest of the guys.
Next up is Seth Lugo from the Kansas City Royals.
His numbers are right up there with the top two guys with a 2.38 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP and 122 strikeouts in 136 innings pitched, going 12-4 in 21 starts.
Here is where it starts to get all joined together and everyone really has similar odds, next is Logan Gilbert with the Seattle Mariners. A very impressive first half with a 2.72 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and 132 strikeouts across 139 innings in 21 starts with a weak 6-6 record.

It seems to be a real runaway in the American League with Skubal having -140 odds as of now, he really just needs to stay consistent for the remainder of the year and the award is his. So if you are looking for a safe bet to place this is the one to hit.
Burnes has fairly similar numbers, just having to get his WHIP better. Having +260 odds with the latest sportsbook promos could be a bit of a steal odds wise with the Orioles being a better team than the Tigers which could lead to Burnes having a higher win to loss record over Skubal which could put him over the edge.
