All eyes are awaiting the next season of The Voice. Not only is out of the sheer excitement that comes with any new season, but Season 24 will mark the first in the show’s history that will not feature Blake Shelton.
Ahead of Season 23, Shelton shared the news that he would be retiring from the role of coach after serving in the position since the show’s inception. When the Fall 2023 premiere comes around, it will look a lot different without the figurehead of the series in his typical red chair.
Fans of The Voice won’t have to wait too much longer to enjoy another round of the singing competition.
When Does Season 24 Premiere?
The Voice Season 24 premieres Monday, September 25 at 8/7c on NBC.
NBC announced earlier in July that Season 24 will make its highly-anticipated return on September 25.
This go around is starting slightly later than the past fall season, which saw Season 22 begin on September 19, 2022. The season before was also around that time with a premiere date of September 20, 2021.
The new chapter will follow up a season that saw a first-year coach in Niall Horan take home the win. Gina Miles wound up winning Season 23 and snatching a win in Shelton’s final right out of his hands. Shelton’s top finalist, Grace West, finished as runner-up to Miles.
Who Are The Season 24 Coaches?
Without Shelton, the coaches will clearly look a lot different. That being said, NBC will be able to cushion the jarring absence of Shelton, as well as another usual coach in Kelly Clarkson, with two returning faces.
John Legend will be back after taking a one season hiatus. Up until that point, he had been a regular since 2019. Joining him will be another friendly face in Gwen Stefani, who will be in for her seventh season after a brief break.
Speaking of Horan, he will return to defend his title and look for a second straight win in as many seasons. Rounding out the group is Reba McEntire. She will be the newcomer of the bunch, though she has been a part of the show at various junctures as a mentor.
Shelton, Clarkson and Chance The Rapper will not be returning after serving as coaches in Season 23.
Will The Voice Be Back For Season 25
No need to worry about the fate of The Voice as NBC already has its coaches lined up for the Spring 2024 season.
While it may be two seasons away, NBC wasted no time sharing the exciting news. There will be a twist when Season 25 comes around as a pair will be one of the coaches. Country duo Dan + Shay will join the cast and will compete as one. Legend will also be back as will McEntire for her second season.
Horan will sit Season 25 out as he heads out for a tour. In his place will return Chance The Rapper.
A premiere date has not been announced for the spring season.
