PayPal Sportsbooks in NJ: Deposits, Withdrawals and Payout Times

By Sean MillerUpdated

Most PayPal sportsbooks in NJ let you deposit and withdraw with the same PayPal account, and the fastest pay out within an hour of approving your withdrawal. Caesars, BetMGM, Borgata, FanDuel, theScore Bet, betPARX, Bally Bet and Prime Sportsbook all confirm PayPal deposits and withdrawals on their own banking or help pages, and DraftKings, bet365, Fanatics and BetRivers accept PayPal too. The catch at nearly all of them: you must deposit with PayPal before you can withdraw to it.

PayPal sportsbooks in NJ, compared

Every limit and time below comes from the operator’s own banking or help pages. A dash means the operator doesn’t publish that detail.

DraftKings, bet365, Fanatics and BetRivers also accept PayPal in New Jersey. Check each cashier for current PayPal limits and payout times before you deposit.

Bally Bet’s sportsbook shares one wallet with Bally Casino, so the casino cashier’s PayPal limits apply to sports bets too. Hard Rock Bet lists PayPal as a deposit method, but it doesn’t publish PayPal withdrawal terms, so check its cashier before relying on PayPal for payouts.

Fastest PayPal payouts in New Jersey

Payout time has two parts: how long the sportsbook takes to approve your request, and how long the money takes to reach PayPal afterward. Operators usually quote only the second part.

  • betPARX says PayPal funds arrive within an hour of approval, but its payments team approves requests by hand, which can take up to 36 hours.
  • theScore Bet reviews every withdrawal for 24 hours. Once approved, the money appears in your PayPal balance instantly.
  • Caesars says most approved PayPal withdrawals reach your account the same day.
  • BetMGM says PayPal withdrawals arrive within 24 hours of its internal review.
  • Bally Bet says PayPal funds usually arrive within 24 hours of your request.
  • Prime Sportsbook routes PayPal payouts through its PayNearMe withdrawal option, and they take one to three business days after approval.

Your first withdrawal is the slowest anywhere, because the sportsbook must finish verifying your identity first. Upload your ID when you open the account rather than when you want to cash out.

The withdraw-to-PayPal rule

The sportsbooks in our table tie PayPal withdrawals to PayPal deposits. That plays out in three ways:

  1. Deposit first. FanDuel, betPARX, Prime and Bally Bet show PayPal as a withdrawal option only after you’ve deposited with it. FanDuel adds that if you’ve deposited by several methods, each becomes available for withdrawals.
  2. Same account. Caesars and theScore Bet require the same PayPal account for deposits and withdrawals. You can’t deposit from one PayPal account and cash out to another.
  3. Recent use. BetMGM lets you withdraw to a method only if you deposited with it in the previous six months.

In practice, if you want PayPal payouts, make your first deposit by PayPal. Depositing by debit card and hoping to withdraw to PayPal later doesn’t work at these books.

Funding PayPal for sports betting

How you fund your PayPal account matters as much as the sportsbook you pick.

  • Caesars, BetMGM and Borgata accept PayPal deposits from your PayPal balance or a bank account linked to PayPal.
  • theScore Bet requires your PayPal account to be funded by a bank account. A PayPal account backed by a debit or credit card won’t work.
  • Caesars requires a personal or Premier PayPal account set up before you deposit.

If your PayPal wallet runs off a card, link a checking account before your first deposit. It avoids a declined deposit and keeps the withdrawal route open.

PayPal fees, minimums and limits

Bally Bet is the only book on this list that publishes PayPal fees: it says it doesn’t charge for PayPal withdrawals. The others don’t list a PayPal fee on their banking pages. PayPal’s own fees, such as for instant transfers from PayPal to your bank, are separate from the sportsbook.

Published PayPal limits are thin. Bally Bet sets $10 to $5,000 per deposit and per withdrawal. Caesars sets a $1 minimum on digital withdrawals. theScore Bet needs a $10 PayPal deposit before it will pay out to PayPal and says any withdrawal limits are set by PayPal. Your own cashier shows the limit that applies to your account.

PayPal and NJ sportsbook promos

A PayPal deposit funds the same account as any other method, so you can use it to place the qualifying bet for a welcome offer. The minimum deposit for most NJ sportsbook offers is $5 to $10, with Borgata asking $20 for its welcome offer. Compare every current offer on our NJ sportsbook promos page, and read the offer terms for any excluded payment methods before you deposit.

Why NJ bettors use PayPal

  • Speed. At betPARX, theScore Bet, Caesars, BetMGM and Bally Bet, PayPal pays out within a day of approval. Bank transfers and checks typically take days.
  • Fewer details shared. The sportsbook sees your PayPal account, not your bank or card numbers.
  • One wallet for several books. Many NJ bettors keep accounts at two or three sportsbooks to shop for the best odds. A single PayPal account can fund each of them, as long as you deposit with it first at each one.

Whatever method you use, you must be 21 or older and physically in New Jersey to bet. Payment method doesn’t change the location check. See every licensed book on our NJ sportsbooks page.
